Would you love to write, but don't know where to begin? Perhaps you're already writing or studying English/creative writing, and need a hand? Would you benefit from 1-1, tailored support? I'm a writer and poet, and my experience of tutoring hundreds of people over the past couple of decades has taught me that anyone can write with the right tools, support and encouragement! We all have experiences we can draw on to express ourselves creatively through the written word. Children, young people, and those experiencing challenges often find writing particularly beneficial and enjoyable. I am here to help inspire new and emerging writers by guiding you through the basics of writing, facilitating a deepened enjoyment and understanding of the power of words, and, importantly, supporting you to have confidence in your unique voice. These interactive, informal, and supportive online classes are aimed at students of any age (above 7 years) who wish to write poetry, short stories, or creative prose (such as life writing). This includes beginners who are keen to learn basic writing skills, and those with some experience wishing to develop their practice and learn more, including students of English and creative writing at school, college or outside of formal education. Although we will touch on key grammatical terms, the focus will be on your creative expression through the written word. In these classes, which will be tailored according to age, experience, needs, and areas of interest, students will learn the basics of writing short stories, including flash fiction; poetry, including free verse and traditional forms such as Haiku and sonnets; and creative prose, including life writing or short creative essays. You can attend as many classes as you like, and together, we will build your skills and understanding of creative writing, including identifying the stories you want to tell. The classes will be a mix of presentation, 'warm-up' writing activities, discussion, reading and analysing key texts, main writing activities, and redrafting, editing and proof-reading your work. For those wishing to get published, there will be additional optional support available, such as detailed editing and mentoring advice, as well as hints and tips on developing as a writer. Bring what you need to me, and we will shape the classes together! I hold a recent DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and parents or guardians of students under 18 years of age are welcome to meet the tutor first, and/or sit in on the classes. I booked my first Arabic initiation with Acine and I absolutely loved it. Acine was very accommodating with our first class. I had a last-minute delay, which resulted in starting the class later than scheduled. He reassured me that it was not an issue and he still managed to maintain the class. My learning experience was also great, he is truthfully the best private teacher I've had. He teaches efficiently, we viewed many subjects for a first class and it was also a fun moment. To sum up, Acine is not the regular teacher you would have at school, he is a great teacher who puts an emphasis on sharing a good moment with his student.

Germán is a great teacher and also fun to work with. He first carefully diagnoses strengths and weaknesses and then designs tailored exercises around the learning needs and gives concrete feedback and shares vocabulary tips. If you search someone to better understand homework/grammar exercises or someone for stand-alone private classes, German is your guy for both. He can explain grammar or improve conversational skills. Before our private lessons, I took courses at the Cervantes institute and my professor there also respected him a lot for his teaching methods and knowledge.

Irma is a great teacher. Everything is well organized in each session. We have fun during the class, so learning dutch with her is not boring. She pays extra attention to the pronunciation and corrects me when I'm wrong. This is very helpful to learn the pronunciation correctly from the beginning since changing it later needs much more effort. Irma is also very flexible with timing and content of the course. I am completely happy with my private classes.
