Mathematics is a field that many of us struggle with so intensely in the early years of our lives. The defining feature of mathematics is logical complexity and that can be a challenge to even the brightest students.
Breaking down the really big ideas into small, bite-sized pieces is not something that is easily done. First you need to understand what you're breaking down and second you have be good at communicating it.
I am a bachelor of Electronic Engineering from KU Leuven, hence I've had to work through these very concepts from scratch, to a far deeper level then I've had to deal with in high school. As I've graduated this year, my understanding is still fresh and strong. I am also a passionate debater and public speaking enthusiast. Communicating a new idea to someone is in my daily curriculum and I love it.
On top of all of this I have been tutoring privately for around five years now and have NEVER had a student complain, or feel like their time has been wasted.
Of course the only thing that can guarantee a student's success is their own work, but understanding how to do the work, is more than half the battle.
I can go over IT system design problems, either as preparation for technical interviews or as exercises in preparing business infrastructure for startups. I am familiar with a wide range of technologies from Front-End frameworks to Embedded Linux Systems. I can support you in the analysis of requirements, calculations of expected requirements/costs and even the deployment of machine learning scripts/containers. Furthermore I have experience with data bases, either on local NAS or on cloud solutions like AWS/Azure.
This class can be used either to hone your own skills, or to talk about the feasibility of an existing idea or early-stage architecture. I have work experience in the deployment of local hardware systems, or cloud-based systems. I can give you insights into operational challenges you might face, or simply whether there are more elegant solutions to the problem.
I specialize in the IB subjects of HL mathematics, HL Chemistry and HL physics.
I have passed both of these classes with a score of 7 in 2015. I am also a graduate of Electrical Engineer from the University of Leuven, so I have broader knowledge in the respective fields as well.
University Admissions are always a very sensitive period for graduating high-school students, because institutions can have a dramatic impact on future opportunities.
I can consult you on strategies that you can use in order to increase your chances of acceptance to USA-based institutions. I have knowledge about the admissions process (CommonApp) and have gone through it myself.
I've assisted many of my past students in their applications, with crafting personal statements and profiles that are memorable to an admissions officer. I'm aware of how to take the ACT/SAT/TOEFL/GMAT and what techniques to use to improve. I'm well versed in what makes a strong portfolio and a strong set of extra-curricular activities. In addition to this, I have an extensive bank of material that can be used for preparation for tests and so forth.
A number of students I've worked with in the past have gotten into ivy league institutions and many top European institutions.
If you have a minor question - feel free to reach out - I'm always happy to share knowledge. Free of charge!
